Non-Profit Applications for LOST Revenue

On January 29, 2008, the residents of the City of Vinton approved a Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) that included five percent of the revenue for local non-profit organizations. The City began collecting the LOST disbursements from the state on July 1, 2008 and will make disbursements from this revenue beginning July 1, 2009.

The City of Vinton will be taking applications until December 15, 2008 from non-profit organizations to be included for disbursements from five percent of the City’s Local Option Sales Tax revenue. The non-profit must be certified as a 501c (3) organization and serve Vinton residents. There is a limit of $2000 per application.
